'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith renews battle with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he recalls the nail-biting closing stages of his team's stunning fightback win against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The encounter culminated with Galbraith briefly donning a spectator's eyewear following the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a speculative effort from outside the box, and his teammate quickly hammered in the loose ball before charging toward the crowd to celebrate, with supporters swarming the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

This sealed an extraordinary turnaround given the Welsh side had found themselves down 2-0 during the latter period. During the celebrations, there was some minor mishaps. The midfielder recalled, "There was a fan sort of calling out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're people, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The victory earned a fourth-round fixture at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith ran close at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with the London side in February. The athletic midfielder had arguably the best view when Orient took the lead in spectacular fashion, with a teammate's long-range effort from about long distance going in via the bar and the City goalkeeper. Many argued that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've credited him for taking the effort on from that far out," commented Galbraith, who started in midfield before moving to right flank after Orient changed shape. That meant facing off against City's winger, with whom he traded tops, and the attacker was among the opposition who praised the way Orient approached the match.

Guardiola's System

"Athletically they are exceptional but even the basics and basic skills, they can just execute repeatedly," he explains. "It feels like they complete every delivery and they know how to manage and take the sting out of a game. You can believe you're doing well and then without warning they will just fizz a pass between defenders without you even seeing. You have to be alert throughout of the game. It takes a tough attitude and focus just to keep pace."

New Chapter

The Welsh side pushed to sign Galbraith in January and beat off competition to secure him in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He made a name as a crowd pleaser across two seasons at Orient and has quickly done the same in his new home. At the London club he joined forces once more with the coach, who previously gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in senior football on loan at his loan club from United. Then came a spell at League Two Salford City, before he departed his boyhood club.

Growth Journey

"I was probably a slightly green going into professional soccer. I think many athletes would say development squad matches is very different. Sometimes it feels like the ball is moved without real physicality. There's not many tackles or duels. Once you start playing men's games you have to learn quickly."

Country Call-ups

He has demonstrated that maturation for both domestically and internationally, shining for the Green and White Army, who are fighting to qualify for the global tournament next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has been selected in the last several matches, including two matches fixtures against the German national team. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's ex- international manager, paid him the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he manipulates the ball and his knack for a killer pass.

Humble Beginnings

This marks an incredible journey for the youngster from the neighborhood in the Belfast suburb, just outside the capital, who grew up watching his father, the elder Galbraith, also a central player, play for a local club.

Red Devils Debut

His only game for United came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a Europa League trip to the host city, where they featured on an artificial pitch and the arena covering was closed owing to temperatures of bitter cold. "It was a extended travel and it was freezing," he recalls, smiling. "The days leading up, several youth players and I practiced as a group, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to accompany the senior squad and get a couple of minutes at the end was unbelievable."

Leaving United

How hard was it to depart Manchester United, the club he joined from Linfield aged a teenager? "It was relatively straightforward, because I arrived at the moment where I realized I wouldn't break through at the top level. I'm very appreciative for the years at the club but it reached a stage where I thought I had to take a different path, join a smaller club and play men's football. Now I'm steadily climbing the ladder."

Welsh Adaptation

It is mid-afternoon at the club's training ground but Galbraith has an appointment at the early evening: a learner's exam, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Until recently to the local area, the young professional was a frequent passenger in Swansea's dubbed player transport, a team vehicle driven by academy staff, Pete and Howard, which ferries players to and from practice and games.

"I travel with the Portuguese player, the Brazilian, Malick Yalcouyé – a former passenger used to be in it but has got his license. It's pleasant to spend time with the teammates but I'm hoping to be the following person to stop using the bus and driving. Franco is known for his humor; he's constantly causing mischief."

Fan Interactions

While playing for Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside followers on the Tube after starting his journey at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
